There is nothing more scarring…
…than getting bumped off (3 times!) on an ID90 ticket. Been spending hours each day since I booked my tickets on amadeus.net, checking out the flight availability, and each day has a seat less for me :s
I’m flying back home from MNL in a bit, and I have LHR tomorrow evening. I actually just want to stay home and dwell in my anxiety. Ha.
Before October last year, I’d blindly go on every flight, regardless of the red frowning face on Flyzed. My confidence in travelling with a staff ticket has been shattered. Lol The flights coming back are all open. It’s just getting there that’s the problem -_- Stress!
Oh the day I can afford/will be willing to afford a full fare ticket!
But then again, there’a also nothing more fulfilling than getting that one seat after all the tension and the waiting haha.
So help me God.

I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes.
Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re Doing Something.
So that’s my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody’s ever made before. Don’t freeze, don’t stop, don’t worry that it isn’t good enough, or it isn’t perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life.
Whatever it is you’re scared of doing, Do it.
Make your mistakes, next year and forever.
May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you’re wonderful, and don’t forget to make some art — write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.

My 2011 in photos
Recap time! Got inspired my Mokidoki’s year-ender post :)

Started the first month of the year right in NYC

Relived Serendipity

Experienced my first snow storm

Got full grade school bangs

Lived in a penthouse

Practiced yoga

Managed a headstand on my own

Became so devoted that I practiced my asanas even when inebriated

Got kicked out of a strip club in San Diego…

…And still found it the most amusing thing on Earth

Celebrated a fake birthday at Cheesecake Factory

Went on a dinner cruise

Flew

Walked on the red carpet at Universal Studios, Hollywood

Got inked

Channeled Betty Draper at a Mad Men party

(Barely) survived a silly bet that we’d last from Brunch til Ground Zero (that’s 14hrs of partying, thank you very much)

Turned 24

Discovered my new little heaven in Paris

Took my sister back home to Bahrain and surprised our parents

Australia didn’t work out, so Plan B was Manila. Went home for vacay after a year a half, and it worked out pretty well as I was able to catch up with my loves.

Met up and reconnected with college friends that I haven’t seen in years (plus a bball player that we pretended to know)

Tried my hand at boxing with my childhood best friend

And enjoyed the grueling workout immensely

Last minute DIY Halloween costume/makeup c/o youtube

Lots of happy hours, good times, and QT with my favorite people

Attended my first Bachelorette/Hen Night

In a hot red limo, no less

Put up a Christmas tree with my flatmate

Had fun goofing around with my siblings

Took my sister to her first Brunch

Sat on Santa’s lap

The family was finally complete this Christmas Eve after a few years of my sister not being able to come home for the holidays

Said goodbye to my lover, Mika, but only temporarily, coz I will be seeing her in a couple of months :)
I say this every time, but after a whole lot of ups and downs, at the end of the year, there’s only gratefulness.
I’m a believer in correct timing and things happening for a reason, as cheesy as that sounds. So whatever blessings I have accumulated or whatever fleeting thing I’ve lost along the ride that was 2011, I trust that I am left with everything I need and deserve for now.
I wish you all a brilliant 2012, with lots of work, and lots of play, lots of food, lots of travels, lots of surprises, and lots of love (or lust. Whichever suits your fancy).
And for the record, my last new year’s resolution was to not get fat and to not get pregnant. That’s probably cheating because 1. I’m single 2. I have fast metabolism, but hey, I followed through right?
Happy New Year, everyone!
xoxo
